New York is a beautiful city and is on of the best holiday destinations in this world. Its elegance and sophistication is truly world class. Many leisure travelers as well as business travelers come to this city; therefore New York has a large number of hotels which vary from discounted ones to luxurious ones. Hourly hotels are usually those hotels which charge by the hour, they are very suitable for people with tight budgets.

So, now let me tell you about some of the hourly rate hotels located in New York City.

The Windjammer Motel Inn

This is one of the cheapest hourly hotel located in Sheepshead Bay, New York City. But this is not the best option that you can consider because the rooms are small and messy. On weekdays the rates are $40 for four hours and on weekends the rates are $40 before 4 p.m. and $50 after it.

Portland Square Hotel

Portland Square Hotel is a good option if you are looking for an hourly hotel because it has well maintained rooms with soft beddings and leather couches. The Portland does not give you the facility of rent by hour but it does have a day rate. The rate for a day stay varies from $99 to $179, and the night stay rate is $180 to $290.

Airway Inn

The Airway Inn is located next to LaGuardia, and the airport location makes it very suitable for tired air travelers. The Airway Inn Authorities not only provide accommodations for prostitutes or lovers but it is also a very good option for travelers tired after long flights. The rates are $61 for four hours and after 9pm it is $70 for four hours.

La Semana

La Semana is another hourly hotel located in the New York City, it is not very suitable for weekend trips but it is perfect for an afternoon stay. It is conveniently located in West 24th Street near Madison Square Park. Here you can get a deluxe room as well as a room with a Jacuzzi. The rates are $85 for a room with a Jacuzzi and $73 for a deluxe room for three hours.

Manhattan Hotel

This hotel is the best hourly hotel located near the Times Square; it is located right in the midtown hence very suitable for a large number of people. The hotel has a shabby structure and the rooms are very dirty including the bed and the sheets. The rate is $65 for three hours.

So, these are some of the hourly hotels which you can easily locate in the New York City.

1.6 million people can’t be wrong. Manhattan offers a window in to the world of what a diverse and exciting nightlife can become. As one of the cultural centers in the world, Manhattan is the place to be.

New York life is uniquely its own; sophisticated, sleek, innovative, and stylish. Without a doubt Manhattan at night will reflect these same qualities. Manhattan truly offers something for everyone with over 20,000 restaurants, clubs, bars and theater to choose from.

Restaurants

Manhattan is home to over 20 thousand restaurants, all with their own atmosphere. It is home to many renowned chefs, all pushing the edge of flavor and style, which elevates the restaurant scene, always providing something new and exciting. Many residents enjoy the highly popular lite grills, which feature a close, festive atmosphere while dishing up health conscious meals. For those looking for a more quiet evening, you will find some of the most romantic restaurants around. Whether you are looking for a quiet place with elegant fare or a hip and happening grill, you are sure to find it.

Dining Strategy

When it comes to hot spots, there are no secrets in Manhattan. You may need to do a little planning ahead for some of the more popular restaurants. Some of the more popular sites, like Shake Shack, have installed a web cam so you can log in and check out the lines. There can sometimes be as much as a 2 hour wait so it helps those who don’t want to be in line for that long. You do not have to forgo the popular places however, if you plan to arrive early or eat before or after the rush.

Bars and Clubs

With every community heating up the night life, there is no shortage of bars and clubs to add to the list of must-dos. From great dives to sophisticated and popular wine bars, there is something to keep life exciting. While many people continue to frequent the well-known Manhattan nightlife spots, the newcomers are always worthy of attention. You will even find that some of the clubs serve entire meals so your entire evening can be spent in one place. Wine bars, which have increased in popularity considerable over the last few years, are a favorite choice for work week relaxation while the serious night life is mostly reserved for the weekend.

Arts and Entertainment

Manhattan nightlife is not complete without the many arts, cultural and entertainment events so plentiful within the area. Well known for their art galleries, there are always events happening to celebrate the culture and collections from around the world. Also popular are the many theaters which feature many popular shows and musicals.

Don’t forget the sports. The night is not complete without a dose of sports. For those ready to leave the sports bars and take in the action live, the proud, competitive, New York spirit is fueled with a wide array of professional sporting events that includes the NHL’s New York Rangers, WNBA’s New York Liberty, and the NBA’s New York Knicks are all home in the city.

Manhattan Nightlife is some of the most vibrant in the world. Thanks to the 4AM last call and over 800 active venues in Manhattan alone, it is no wonder that many people flock to New York as the mecca of good times.

Certain neighborhoods are better than others for certain crowds but with New York the question is never whether you can find it, it’s only where.

Clubbing:

Meatpacking District- MePa is the most concentrated upscale club zone in Manhattan. There are 20+ Restaurants, Bars, Lounges and Clubs to choose from within a 5 block radius. Many of them are very strict at the door so be sure you either have contacted a promoter or sweet talked the doormen. Buying a table never hurt (except your wallet!). The meatpacking district website is the best source of info on this area

Chelsea

This was the old club capital of Manhattan with mainstays like Pink Elephant, Cain and Marquee amongst others. Of those listed, only Marquee remains. This area was known for its mega clubs which can hold hundreds upon hundreds of drunken revelers. Though a bit deserted, Chelsea still has a few nooks to look in for great nightlife.

The Dive Specials:

East Village

You cant throw a stone in East Village without hitting a packed bar. All you need to do is go to 14th street, head due east until the letter avenues (Ave A, etc) and head down any one of those to find yourself dead in the middle. Try walking down 3rd Ave below 14th as well for a good tour of some of the areas bars. Down here you’ll find a lot of divey, fratty bars so be prepared to drink keg beer and play Beirut!

Yorkville

A semi-hidden gem that not a lot of down town heads know about because its so far up. If you hit 2nd Ave and walk from 90th St down through the upper 70′s you’ll see nearly uninterrupted string of bars and restaurants. Take a walk that way, there are some great spots of different kinds from upscale to dive.

Honorable Mentions:

E. 50′s and 2nd Avenue

9th Avenue from 40th Street-55th Street

It can be quite daunting choosing a bar from the hundreds you have at your fingertips. If all else fails, ask a concierge or even someone in the street, there’s bound to be something nearby.

Suzy the Shih Tzu and I have been scouring the country, checking out all the top pet friendly traveling destinations. Finally we got the chance to head back to a long time favorite, New York City! The atmosphere and energy, the restaurants, the shopping! What more could a girl and her dog want in a big city?

Stay

Accommodation opportunities abound in New York, with a never-ending supply of fine hotels to choose from. We got ourselves a nice and cozy room at the W New York Union Square located at 201 Park Ave S, New York. It is a dog friendly chain of hotels and close to an off-leash park. The hotel has a historical significance and the building was considered a landmark in 1911. It was famous as the Guardian Life Building. It was a beautiful experience especially because I got to sleep on a down feather bed with custom pillow-topped mattress, and 350-thread count Egyptian cotton blend linens. It was like a dream come true. Suzy got a similar treatment though her bed was much smaller. Suzy enjoyed every moment from the energy of the fitness center, to the ethereal view of New York from our balcony.

FEE: I paid $100 one time fee. If you have two dogs then you will be required to pay $25 additional fee for the second dog.

You can check out some other dog friendly hotels in New York like:

Sheraton New York Hotel & Towers: 811 7th Avenue on 53rd St

Sofitel Hotel: 45 West 44th Street

Soho Grand Hotel: 310 West Broadway

Swissotel NY -The Drake: 440 Park Avenue

The Muse: 130 West 46th Street

The Westin New York at Times Square: 270 West 43rd Street

Tribeca Grand Hotel: 2 Avenue of the Americas

Play

Suzy’s favorite activity by far was the Brooklyn Bridge Self-Guided Walk. The bridge is absolutely awe inspiring especially at 5am in the morning just before the sunrise. I have never come across a more beautiful sight and the standing there all by myself at the center of the bridge – nothing but the smell of freshness and the echo of the morning breeze. The sign of the New York skyline from the Brooklyn Bridge was beholding. I walked the entire length of the bridge with Suzy on the wooden walkway that has been kept elevated over the traffic. It took me 40 minutes to cover the bridge and Suzy did it twice in the same time. She loved the walk and the breeze and barked at the small cruises that whizzed under the bridge.

Of course we spent quite a bit of time hanging out at Central Park and Suzy loved every minute of it. Central Park is a designated off-leash area from 9 pm until 9 am daily and Suzy relished the chance to run freely. She loved hanging out at the Shakespeare Garden and made quite a few friends. Another great area for dog socializing is “Dog Hill”. Suzy made so many new playmates it was almost impossible to get her to leave. Dog Hill is located near Central Park West and 79th Street (north of 79th Street.)

Another great New York dog park is the Washington Square Park at W 4th St and Waverly Pl. There are two separate dog runs here. One is for smaller dogs like Suzy and the other is for larger dogs. That was great for her as she had a wonderful run with some Maltese’s and Chow Chow’s.

Some of the other good dog parks in New York include:

Tompkins Square Park: 500 E 9TH St

Madison Square Park: 25th St at Madison Ave

Katies Kitty: 170 East 83 Street

I had to leave Suzy here for a day to go to Manhattan to meet a dear friend who is not really comfortable around dogs. Suzy had such a great time that once I returned; she was not really willing to go back to the hotel with me. I guess I can owe that to the caring and friendly staff at Katies Kitty. Their kennels are special because they arrange homes for pets with a proper family and not the traditional kennel system. As a result my Suzy got the same affection that a family can provide and she was fed well and taken care of.

Eat

Boat Basin Café: W 79th St, New York

Suzy has a weakness for good food and boats. So when we went to the Boat basin café, she was more excited than any dog out there. I think this is the most dog-friendly place in the city of New York and is an unusual place. The café is riddled with history and has a vaulted stone ceiling that will remind you of the Victorian era. There is a huge veranda that overlooks the docks, and from here the New Jersey skyline looks absolutely mesmerizing. At the end of the day, I was intoxicated by the cocktails and Suzy was intoxicated by the experience.

Shop

There is no dearth of pet stores in New York and they have designer stores for pets too. A favorite for pampered pets like Suzy is Trixie and Peanuts at 23 E 20th St. There always up on the latest dog fashion trends and Suzy loves being able to try the items on. We got her a great new sweater for fall and a gorgeous Hampton carrier for all her travels. They had the cutest dog Halloween costumes on display. Suzy really wanted to be a little devil, fitting I suppose.

Some of the stores we frequent in New York include:

Whiskers Holistic Pet Products: 235 E 9th Street. They sell mostly natural and organic pet food. They have mostly home cooked meals for pets, which I think is great for all kinds of pets.

Furry Paws: 141 Amsterdam Avenue

Ralph Lauren: 867 Madison Avenue

Tiffany & Co: 727 5th Avenue

Saks Fifth Avenue: 611 5th Avenue

To those of you who dont know,Manhattan is an Island and is where alot of the great sites and sounds of New York City can be experienced. For this article,we will focus on what to see and how to travel within the island of Manhattan.

Probably the most well reknown site in the city is The Empire State Building which is located at 34th Street and 5th Avenue. For many years this building was the tallest structure in the world.

Another great site to see, especially in the fall,is the gigantic Christmas Tree lighting ceremony that takes place in the heart of Rockerfeller Center. There’s also a beautiful ice skating rink thats open to the public. Rockerfeller Center is located on 50th Street between 5th and 6th Avenues.

Next is The United Nations which is located at 42nd-46th Street and 1st Avenue.

An area of amusement which is a must see is called The Chelsea Piers. This is a huge complex that houses an indoor golf driving range, bowling alley, ice skating and roller skating rinks,an archery area, baseball batting cages, large gymnasium for basketball, and an olympic sized swimming pool among other things. The Chelsea Piers is located at 23rd Street and 12th Avenue.

Next up is an awesome man made wonder that was constructed in the 19th century. Streching from 59th Street to 110th Street,5th Avenue to Central Park West,is none other than Central Park. Events such as live concerts and gatherings are held here when the weather is nice. There is also a zoo,ice skating rink, lakes, baseball fields and a dining place called Tavern On The Green, all located within the park.

Two definite must see’s are The Museum Of Natural History(81st Street&Central Park West) and The Museum Of Modern Art(82nd Street&5th Avenue) Very close by,within walking distance of the museum of natural history is The Hayden Planetarium.

Another museum of note is The Cloisters.Located at 155th Street and Broadway, close to the West Side Highway. This museum showcases all artifacts, photographs, paintings, carvings and history of The Native American Indian.

The New York Stock Exchange located at Wall Street and Broad Street

Battery Park located at the Southern tip of Manhattan. Ferries to The Statue Of Liberty and Ellis Island are found here.

The South Street Seaport located at Fulton Street and South Street. Plenty of great seafood here along with astounding sites to be seen. For those of you who have never been here before, there are some terms that I should make you aware of.

East Side,Lower East Side,West Side,Upper East Side,Upper West Side,Chelsea,Tribeca,SoHo,The Village,The East Village,The West Village,Midtown,Gramercy Park,China Town,Little Italy.

Greenwich Village is known for there outdoor european style cafes..nice boutiques, art galleries, and antiques. You can always find things to do in The Village.

China Town is an area of about 6 blocks that showcases everything about the chinese culture.
Great restaurants, small shops, lots of history. A must see.

Little Italy is also an area of about 6-7 blocks with great italian restaurants and is very close to china town.

There are more restaurants per sqare block in Manhattan than anywhere in the world. So,finding a place to eat will not be a problem.

Now lets talk about The New York City Subway System which has more square miles of track than any city in the world. If you’re planning to visit New York City in the future, this is a great tool to use.

Manhattan has the most diversified people and cultures than anywhere in the world. The neighborhoods and communities of the people that live and work here, in my opinion, are second to none.

“You pay peanuts, you get monkeys” and if you’re willing to spend a little more during your Manhattan NY rental charter bus holiday, you get…Uncle Jack’s. Uncle Jack’s steaks are literally legendary in Manhattan NY and if you’ve never eaten there, start saving your money, rent a Manhattan NY charter bus and head on over to splurge on good food and drinks from Uncle Jack’s. Talking (or rather, writing) about the steaks itself is making my mouth water. Absolutely scrumptious. Every bite is an absolute delight, I’m telling you! But that’s not the end of it because there’s more to eating at Uncle Jack’s Steakhouse than just the steaks.

Here’s another reason to take the Manhattan rental charter bus to Uncle Jack’s Steakhouse – the atmosphere is lovely in this charming Manhattan rental charter bus dining destination. It’s in a brick building that is rather unpretentious with soft brown furniture which gives it the homely feeling of eating at home. The service staff is well-trained as they provide International class service. The moment your wine is done, the staff will be right there again to refill it. What a way to eat in Manhattan NY, right? If you’re a light eater, like me, you might want to consider sharing your dish with someone else because the portion is extremely huge! In fact, I think New York time once said that ‘Uncle Jack’s Steakhouse leaves no item overlooked’….says a lot there about this Manhattan NY rental charter bus diner already!

The Kobe Beef was yummilicious with generous sauces and dips – if you rent a Manhattan New York charter bus there, be sure to try that. Another steak to try at this Manhattan New York charter bus dining destination is the PorterHouse steak. They have a wide range or beer, beverage and wine for rental charter bus holiday-goers like you too. You know, this is the perfect place to bring a date because of the atmosphere…dim lighting, soft music, beautiful people serving you and fabulous food. So, if I were you, I’d not hesitate at all about taking the Manhattan NY rental charter bus to Uncle Jack’s for another round of face gorging! Like I said, the only concern it….be prepared to pay for it!
